If you haven’t heard about the Portland sick leave law yet, now is the time to take action. It was effective January 1, 2014 and requires employers with 6 or more full time workers to provide up to 40 hours per year of paid sick leave. If under 6 employees, it can be up to 40 of unpaid sick leave. Employees accrue sick leave at a rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
